Plan a Vacation!
Some tips from an experienced teacher that loves to take a break in style!

Are your holiday breaks and vacations filled with nothing or part time work? Time for a change! The February and March down time is better if you have a vacation planned. Spring break is for teachers not students. A summer run away for me does the ole' recharge thing very well thank you. OK let's get down to the basics.
1. Get a travel agent- I know in the computer age you think you can find better but in fact I know computers and I have a travel agent. Her name and information are:
Bobbie Sims
Phone 803-827-0311 or 803-707-9517
Here's why I work with Bobbie:
Travel alerts for reduced trips of my choice
Cruise best rates and upgrades from her.
Talking to a real person helps me.
She offers the best rates I can find without hidden surprises.
**Teachers if you contact her and mention "Teachers' Bag of Tricks" she will help more. She likes teachers!
2. Explore some special offers and ideas- On a cruise (Carnival Glory) they were offering a special restaurant called the Emerald Room for a $30 cover. My first reaction was why do that when the food is free everywhere else on board? So I explored and the $30 was worth the special service, atmosphere, entertainment and menu. I would recommend this to anyone taking that same cruise ship. I guess they are on others.
3. Use the individual hotels customer service representative. My favorite hotel to escape to is the Crown Plaza in Jacksonville, Fl. because of the service. Sara Priester the Customer Service Representive at that hotel is the main reason I return a few times a year. She is helpful with problems, upgrades, & spoiling good customers with special service.
4. Disney is not just for kids- The dining and experiences offered at Disney World are for adults too! OK some of this cost a little more but you "save to spend".
Did you know:
The Animal Kingdom Lodge has animals right off your balcony.
Jiko, California Grill and all the top hotel resturants are special! The level and quality of their service and food is unmatched.
At the California Grill you can watch the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom after you eat with music and all!
There is a special Cris Craft boat called the "Breathless" that you can take a private cruise for Illumination at EPCOT.
Downtown Disney has everything for a night out!
5. Don't follow the crowd- Having taken a few cruises to Nassau I know I do not want to go to Atlantis. But there is a wonderful treat hidden a short cab ride away call the Hotel GrayCliff that has a wonderful dining area, superb lunch menu and a wine list that will make you want to sing! Key West has an Island called Sunset Island that is west of Malory Square and you get there only by water. With lunch reservations you travel over by boat and enjoy excellent food, no crowds, Mango Drinks and a view.
6. Go out of season- The hotel rates at Myrtle Beach range from $1000 to $100 depending on the time of year. In February the food is still great, the nightclubs still dance with music, and there are less crowds.
